Flat Earth is an ancient concept of the Earth's shape as a flat surface or disk. Many ancient cultures subscribed to the idea of a flat Earth cosmology, including Greece up to the Classical Period (323 BC), Bronze Age and Iron Age civilizations in the Near East up to the Hellenistic Period (31 BC), and India up to the Gupta Period ( First centuries AD) and China until the seventeenth century.
